Active loudspeakers are loudspeakers that have their own dedicated power amplifiers driving their specific driver components. Most active loudspeakers will have their power amplifiers build in to their speaker cabinet. All you need is a preamplifier or a CD player with a variable output and you have a hi-fi system that occupies very little space. The active loudspeaker system normally will cost twice as much as the standard loudspeaker because of the amplifiers they have inside.

The advantages of having a dedicated power amplifier to a cone driver is that the power amplifier specification will match those of the driver it is driving. The power amplifier will always operate in an ideal situation. Without the load of the crossover, the direct controls the amplifier has on the loudspeaker greatly enhance their capabilities. This compact 2-way active loudspeaker features full electromagnetic shielding with an ultralinear frequency response from 50Hz to 21kHz.

The B2031 have two mono amplifiers, 150watts for the low frequency and 75watts for the high frequency. The long throws 8.75” woofer features a special polycarbonate diaphragm and a sturdy cast aluminum chassis. For particularly demanding situations, the three-way adjustable roll-off enables you to add a subwoofer.

Next to cleverly designed construction and selected components, its position and the room itself largely influence the response of a loudspeaker system. Positioning especially effect low frequencies, which radiate in a highly non-directional manner. Depending on the circumstances, the acoustic energy radiating from the system does not necessarily radiate in all directions. The Truth has a switchable three-step attenuation of undirected low frequencies, ensuring reliable results even in extremely varying room conditions.

As we all know, very few rooms are ideal, a room with a low degree of absorption can create a hard sound, and in another room the same sounds may be dull and muddy. The TRUTH B2031 features four-step high-frequency adaptation, allowing you to optimally compensate for room acoustics.

The TRUTH B2031 is fitted with a pair of extremely low-noise servo-balanced input stage on XLR and TRS connectors, virtually eliminating the risk of interference. It has a de-attachable power cord too. Overload protection through separately controlled limiter for low and high frequency ranges

The TRUTH B2031 monitor loudspeakers are very convincing, powerful, transparent and easy to listen to. The B2031 is a stand mount loudspeaker system. It weights at approximately 15kgs and delivered in matched pairs. Ever since the infamous Meridian Active Loudspeaker system, the M2 & M3, I never come across one as affordable as the Behringer TRUTH B2031.
