One of the criteria which I always included for my report is Emotion. A product must be able to communicate to your senses whether visually, sonically or through its value. This emotions that we have for a product is what I call pride of ownership.

Stereophile Audio Video is clearing some goodies which I like to highlight here before everything is sold off. They have tubes at good prices,  you can buy now and keep for future uses. There are a few demo equipment's like CD transport, pre-amp, power amplifiers, loudspeakers and cables. I can see some accessories like hi-fi racks and speaker wire connectors as well.
 

The Soundroom at #03-52 The Adelphi is something coming out of a Bang & Olufsen textbook. Stylish designer equipment from Marantz, Audio Innovations and B&W POD speakers are being displayed. The showroom is very bright and nicely done up with the display strategically placed around the room.

I was particularly impressed with the Marantz MR2020 which they called Layla and with the B & W Minipod loudspeakers. It combines high quality sound with high style looks. Who says you cannot have both at a decent price range. Well as always it take the Japanese to find a way to do it.

Mr. Edmund Tan of Soundroom said that the MR2020 has the  flexibility of an individual component because of a pre out and an auxiliary input to make it even more versatile to operate as a digital control centre for  your hi-fi system.You can use your own preference of power amplifier to match  the loudspeaker of your choice or as an option to your AV requirements. Move your hand towards the MR2020, as if magic the top lid  glides open, revealing an LCD display and the CD top load player. The controls and the LCD display can be seen or be adjusted on the lid, on the equipment and  there is the remote control too.

This made in Japan CD player / stereo receiver will make the European competition shiver when they know that for all the technologies that have gone into this machine, the price Marantz is selling them to the consumer is good value for money and no wonder Mr. Tan have sold quite a few number of sets already. Even with the B & W Minipods included as a package which is highly recommended it is still excellent for the dollar or should I say yen...
 

Now forget the high stylish look and the magic control, the sound quality coming from the MR2020 with the B&W Minipod loudspeaker is certainly quite magical.

The Bass coming from the B&W Minipod speaker really tells you that you cannot tell a speaker’s bass response according to its size anymore. The midrange vocals range has that 3-D dimension too. Need I say more?

The Marantz MR2020 comes with its own Marantz speaker system which are thrown in together as a  package. Edmund told me that the supplied speaker is best use as an AV surround loudspeaker. What more can you ask for??
