Lousy Customer Support!

I bought a Marantz KIV CD Player few years back. However, when the player is spoiled, there isn't any service centre in Singapore to repair. The shop that sold me the set said the service centre in Singapore already closed down. Therefore, I would strongly suggest anyone in Singapore who is interested in buying a Marantz to think twice !!!!!

Hi Vince, I have just bought 2 marantz products recently, an amp and a CDP. In these few years, their local service centre moved twice, from Leng Kee Road to Toa Payoh and then to Joo Seng Road. Their current address is - 130 Joo Seng Road, #03-02 Olivine Building, Singpaore 368357. You may also want to call them up through their direct line: 858-1517.
 
Well, regarding their customer service, I also have a word to say. I bought their CD player CD6000OSE which claims to have the capability to playback CDR and CDRW. When I load a CDR into this player, I found that it has serious tracking problem and always gives the ERROR sign. I feedbacked to their service centre. The technician told me that the problem is already well known in this model of player and can be solved by changing a small component on the decoding board, but the customer have to bear the cost of the component and workmanship! What is more, they don't guarantee that this modification will work! Of course I did not go for the modification and can only play those self-compiled CDRs once in a blue moon. I feel that the incapability in playing CDRs on this CDP, which Marantz claims to be able to do so, is a flaw in their product and they should take up the responsibility to fix the problem instead of charging the customers on that. I am disappointed with their service! and hope that other potential buyers of Marantz CD6000 watch out this problem!
