Suggestion on CD upgrade

Since Dr. Wong is very busy and there are a lot of people out there waiting for the CDP upgrate, why not we modify it by ourselves? I think if Dr. Wong can publish enough information and provide the components, many people should be able to do it, so we don't need to wait for too long. The most important thing is, by doing it ourselves, we can learn more and get more fun, right?

I can understand these problems. However, I strongly do not recommend DIY. Here are the reasons:

1. Many have damaged their own CD players because of lack of experiences
2. Many do not have the soldering skill to make a proper connetion, worse, a short circuit which can be lethal.
3. Safety aspect. Many could be eletrocuted if dismantling the player without disconnecting from the power supply.
4. Replacing some parts needs skills or the PCB might break.

I shall be engaging some experienced technicians to take over this modification job. I am still accessing their skills, and will allow them to perform the mod for supporters if they are suitable. There will be no increase in price, and hopefully they can do a much faster job than me!

For  this modification, some parts were specially made for 1388.com. I would like to keep these parts exclusive to us, because the specs are the result of my  researches.

Hi Mike,

Please kindly refere to the article by Jimmy. His encounter is something I want to avoid. CD Player can be dangerous to temper with.
