Auric Illuminator question Dear Dr. Jon Wong, I am using a Sony XA-50ES CD player with a special transport. The lens doesn't move, but rather, the heavy transport moves the CD across the lens. Also, a heavy clamp prevents disc wobbling. As the AI gains some effect from eliminating wobbling, does this mean I won't benefit as much from AI? And if I do still want to try AI for its other benefits, does this necessary mean I need not apply the gel? In fact, I am already using CD spotlight -- will the black AI pen be even better than a green pen? Green Thumb |
Hello Green Thumb!
We have tried it on many heavy weight transport, with all sorts of clamping and crystal damping with wonder woods. The effect is still amazing. I do not think that your transport is totally immune from the magical touch of the auric illuminator. You see, it is the reflective index and the surface quality of the CD that matters. If you say that the heavy transport moves the CD over the lens, in terms or control engineering, I suppose it is easier to correct errors moving a small mass than moving a heavier mass. But I may be wrong as I am not sure how the Sony works. The best answer is : try the auric illuminator! You have nothing to loose. I have hundreds of CD given the green pen touch. However, I still use the black marker. Two reasons: it does have a difference and is better, and second is the green stuff sometimes can spread onto the CD which I really hate. |
