Upgrade for High End Players

Will a high-mid-end CD player (Wadia, Audiomeca Talisman) and DVD player (Sony 7700) benefit from your clock upgrades?

Hello Alan,

Provided you do not mind voiding the warranty, upgrading the clock is always beneficial for the player. It is because no company would want to invest in 10-50 times the cost to provide a clock. Most likely, a 50ppm crystal costing about $1 is all they put in the player.

For Wadia CD player, it depends on which model you are talking about. Most of Wadia’s player are already well designed.

For DVD player, I have to verify what is the system frequency.

There will be more ‘improvement’ obeserved on the DVD than CD.
