To Minipod or not?

Dear Dr. Jon Wong,

What's your opinion about the minipod speakers? Is it really worth buying? The looks itself really tempting. Secondly, could you recommend a CD player and amp to go along with it (my budget for this 2 items is $2000). My music peference are jazz, pop and new age.

I agree with you that the Minipod are so cute and lovely. But perhaps this is where all ends. If you are into music, I would suggest you look at others.

If you are a member of 1388.com, then for your budget you can ask for a very good deal on this Mini Houston 1998 amplifier and Silverline Audio SR12. The sound is superb and the amp itself is more sexy than Minipod, I think. You will get to love the amp more than the Minipod eventually!

This might stretch your budget a bit. As for the CD player, you can look for Pioneer or etc and consider an upgrade (analog and clock section) later.
