OTL valve amp checked!

Like many who has purchased second hand audio amplifiers, I suppose many are unable to find strong local support. Andrew has brought his old OTL valve amp sometime ago. Although it was a very good buy, he was troubled by several minor problems. He was also puzzled by the future of the amplifiers.

It turned out to be he has bought a good OTL power monoblocks. Although they are old, some minor sorting out was good enough for the amplifier.

As the amplifiers were built many years ago, it might not have facilities against EMC or EMI problems. Andrew brought the amplifiers for a check up in 1388.com! Below are the pictures:

Upon checking, the amplifier was still in good working conditions. The output valves are of very rare type, and the amplifier actually can sell for a higher price than Andrew paid for!

1388.com has checked the circuits and retouched some oxidised parts. Also, new grid stopper resistors were installed for Andrew, because of the complain of some interference problems. The resistors should solve the ‘noise’ problems, and also make the amplifier more analytical.
