Comparing DACs

Dear Dr. Jon Wong,

My system consist of CEC T1X CD Transport, Audio Note Dac 2, BAT VK3i Pre-amplifer, Cary Audio SLM 100 mk V Power Amplifier (100 watts 4/8ohms), Apogee Stage loudspeakers, Kimber KCAG Interconnects, 4TC Speaker Cables, Audioquest AC Power Cords and two home-made Oil based power cords by Gabriel of Zen Audio. I have a VAL 100 watts RMS valve mono push pull power amplifier powering a Current generator to provide a exact 220V of current to my audio note DAC.

My new queries: Do you think I can improve the sound further by replacing the Audio Note DAC 2 with a Audio Note DAC 3.1x. Do you think the DAC 3.1x will have more air and details than the Mark Levison DAC 360.

Hello Naga,

Have you considered Wadia? Their DACs are still the best I have heard. Why not look around for a Wadia?

Unfortunately, I heard that Wadia has gone bust. Perhaps there will be no more agent..... second hand support might be a problem too..

Why not you give Ensemble an audition? I have heard the 24bit 96Khz version (upgraded) and it was really very impressive. Finally, the Ensemble comes with a support which is very impressive.
