Two Speakers not on the same level

Dear Doctor,

Due to space constraint, my two speakers are not on the same level, one is on my desktop whereas the other is on a shelf-top, does this placement seriously affect the sound quality?

Dear Beginner!

It is very important for the two speakers to be on the same level. The speakers are designed to be of equal distances from your ears in order to create a good sound stage.

You can try to place both speakers on the table and let the speakers toe out. This is a good compromise.
