Comparing 6922

Dear Dr. Jon Wong,

What is the difference between the 6922 and the 6922 LN? Will it give better sound if I use it for my driver and input stages for my power amplifier?

I am interested in the JVC Sd-7 micro hifi which i am going to use in my bedroom. If I am not wrong, the cd player is not cd-r/rw compatible. In this case, is there anyway to modify the player to play cd-r/rw disc. Thank You

Alan

Hello Alan,

Techically, the 6922 and 6922LN shouold not sound too much different. Manufacturers, however, make a lot of difference. Check out this link:

I still find the Philips JAN type the best sounding. We have about 30 of them in my office. Are you interested?

Also, the 6N1 can sound more HiFi than the 6922. To use 6N1, your equipment must be able to supply the 700mA heater current.

Sorry, can’t help you on the JVC. Why not buy the Marantz CD4000? It is a superb performer.
