Room Treatment Dear Dr. Jon Wong, I am in the process of setting up my a/v room (mainly for audio purposes). I am on a tight budget and so I am looking for very cheap materials to treat my room. among the available materials that i am looking at are the following: Motets |
Some materials you described will surely look terrible! This is my suggestion: Make a presentable looking cylinder column (stuffed with damping materials) and place between the speakers (in the middle). The column should be able to absorb the reflected sound. Get a decent carpet and place your system, speakers, etc, on it. Use curtains (thick ones) behind the speakers, and on the side walls. The curtains should be able to be drawn in or out for adjustment. This is an effective method and looks good. |
