Hi Dr. Jonathan, Sometime ago you told me that there is a low cost cable suitable for my AV setup from Audience. Is it in yet? Also, how good it is?

Thank you for your kind support! We have just received two cables from USA. One is the Maestro, and the other is the Conductor. We reviewed and listened to it, and feel that they are highly recommended.

The Maestro selling price work out to be S$315 (1.0m pair) for members, and Conductor selling price work out to be S$200 (1.0m pair).

Comparing with several cables which we have and know, we are very sure these two are excellent value for money. The fact that they are detailed, musical and beautiful. I highly recommend you the Conductor. It is perfect for AV setup because it sounds great, the price is right and it is really soft and manageable. The picture of the Conductor is as follows:

Regarding the comment on being neutral, I can assure you that we will remain neutral and objective for all manufacturers products.

1388.com is running a business, because we all need income to support our families. But we are very careful with our products: we do not make amplifiers, speakers, or CD players. We sell accessories which truly are great performers and value for money. This sort of income cannot even cover a small portion of our overhead, honestly!

Same for CD modification. I think comparing with the average charges of S$500 per item of modification from UK or local upgrades, 1388.com’s $300 package is a great bargain and not a bargain in performance improvement. This is a service again.

Actually, it is better for us to sell X brand cable for say S$2000 and enjoy 50% profit. Instead, we would hunt for lower cost items that can outperform much more expensive accessories. This is a service, and we hope we have your kind support!

I think it will be ridiculous if you write to Mark Levinson and Mark recommends you to buy Jeff Rowland products. Or you write to Jeff and he recommends Mark Levinson’s products?! The same thing applies to 1388.com.

Joe and I give our recommendations based on facts and experiences, and not others. If we feel the product is good, we say it is good. If we feel the product needs improvement or poor value for money, we take it that we never seen or heard it before. And I am pretty sure till date Joe and I have not made anyone waste on poor investments. Instead, we believe we have made many rather happy with their own systems.
