| Power Governor Hi Jon, When I listen to the Power Governor trial sample you built last night, there was a sudden dip in voltage. I knew it when the lights went off and back again. The CD player continued to play and there was no interruption to the music. However, the meter on the Power Governor dip slightly and back again after a while, what happened? The lights were also flashing a bit. Will it damage anything? Alex |
Dear Alex, What you experienced is very rare in Singapore. The power supply dipped for a while, perhaps a few hundred mili seconds. This can happen in any sub stations. In the first instance, the Power Governor took the system pass the whole power outage period. It think it was only split second interruption. But the second time, I think the outage was more serious. The Power Governor could last for about a few seconds before shutting down. I think the interruptions was close to the limit of shutting down. When the power returned, it just tracked the power and continued working. There is no concern of worry, the Power Governor can take a full 3 thousand watts of power. Also, the Power Governor protects your system from power surge. It is not uncommon the CD player electronics got damaged because the abrupt return of power, with surges of over a few thousand volts. Please keep me posted about the progress! We are now trying very very hard to get it to the market. There are many things involved such as funding, distribution and name. We hope it will be out sometime around the Chinese New Year period. It certainly is not possible to be before February. February is more possible. I will keep you updated. |
