CD sound Softer?

Hi Jon,

My system consists of:

  • CDP/LP: Pioneer PD-S505 w/legato link dac
  • Pre/Power: Konzert Avr
  • Speakers: Wharfdale
  • Cables: Mit t 2/ kimber 4tc speaker cable
  • Room Size:
  • Music Preference: rock/jazz

My question is regarding my CD player. How can I make my CD player sound softer and I like more separation from instruments.

I like the low frequency of my player already, so bass is not a problem. I tried using blacklight and stop light, but i cannot hear any improvements on my CD's.

Thanks and I hope u can solve my problems.

Dear Mike,

You should try placing your CD player on a chopping board. If you want the sound to be really soft, try to attach some blue tack on the coaxial output of the CD player. This should work.

Also, you can place books on top of your player. This will make the speker sound soft, but the trade off is the sound will be worse.

You can also try placing two pillows behind your speakers.
