| Whining Audio Note Hi Doctor, My system consistes of
I've a problem which I've tried to solve... for a long long time. When I powered on my system... after say 5 minutes... I could hear an intermittent hi-frequency whining signal coming from both my speakers. As I crank my volume pot louder, it gets louder, went turn vol to zero, the signal is gone... this signal can be irritating especially when I play LPs. Whichever input I select, I could hear this whining signal on and off. I've tried to reorganize my wires, so as to minimize EMI interference... I suspect tube micro phony, but changing the 5687s and 6SN7, does not help. I've also tried to plug in onto different power point... but does not help. I've tried to pull out all ICs and the signal still comes out from the speakers... is it the problem with amp or interference? pls help. I'm getting mad. Erricsan |
Hello Erricsan, If I am not wrong, your Meishu is oscillating. It could be the setup, or it could be be the amp, I had seen oscillations on many amplifiers. Changing wires and tubes will not solve the problem. Call the agent up and ask them to solve this problem for you. Connecting an oscilloscope to your system will be able to trace the culprit. If the agent cannot help you, then it is time to give me a call! |
