| System Budgetting Hi, I am Wang Wei from Singapore, a entry-level Hi Fi enthusiast. Currently I am looking for a entry-level system, my budget isS$3000 including cables and stand. I also auditioned some bookshelf speaker like Dynaudio audience 50 and NHT super one. But the sales people all pair with expensive AMP and CD player. For S$3000 budget , how to pair with the above speakers or could you please recommend me some system. My room is about 17-18 m2. I like POP, vocal music which is detail, clean warm and also R&R but not heavy , sometime I also listen some string music. Appreciated that you can give me some advice. Wang |
Hello Wang, For three thousand dollars and everything in, it seems a bit tight. But not really. To me, S$3000 is a lot to build a good system. If you do not pair up the speakers with what the salesmen used, you certainly would not be able to get the same sound. I think it was a poor demonstration. For the Dynaudio Audience, it needs a decent amplifier to drive it. If you can find a used Audiolab integrated amplifier, you should consider. As for CD player, you can buy a Marantz CD for about S$300+ and get someone to modify it. It could sound as good as something close to S$2000. For cables there are many low cost but good sounding cables. Good luck! |
