Choosing CD Players

Hi Dr Wong,

Is CambridgeAudio D300SE CD player value for money? What about Arcam 7SE CD player?

I am seriously considering buying one , just to play music CDs on my hi-fi system. Or is it better to send in my dvd player for upgrade ??

Hello Kang,

Both the Arcam and the Cambridge are decent performers. It depends on your taste to choose which one to buy.

In both cases, they should sound better than the DVD in terms of demanding audio. Modifying the DVD player is not easy, as the newer models all have surface mount components, which are real pain to remove and install.
