Thank you for your visit last Thursday. Your tweaks really woke up my system. Now, at least my feet would start taping with some of the jazz or pop music being played. Besides, I think Auric Illuminator also helps a lot in enhancing the music's clarity, focusing, dynamic and tightening the bassI visited Outram Park and Bras Basah last weekend. I bought a few jade rings and crystals (they cost me $5-6 each, sob). I also tried to look for the heavy wood that is used in caligraphy as what you told me. However, the only shop that sells this is closed until 9th of April. Well, I can't wait until then. Finally, I bought a thick chopping board made from good wood in a grocery shop, sawed it into half (which took me one and half hour) and placed them beside my speakers. However, the improvement seems, Hmm... not very significant. Probably should get the real good wood from the stationery shop.Besides, my existing problem, which is the treble can sometimes become a bit ear-piercing still persists. I changed the crystal that you stick to the CD tray to a thin piece of jade as I found the latter gives a bit warmer and smooth sound, although loses a bit in dynamic. However, as what you said, I should not expect too much from this $1500 system. I think its performance now is sufficient to please me for at least a few years. I also went to the Alexandra Road area (near Queenstown Shopping Centre) where there are a lot of car repairing shop to collect ball bearings. However, none of the shops sells it, and I only manage to collect some used ones from a few shops. One of the kind-hearted technician gave me about 50 ball bearings. However, all the ball bearings that I have collected are only half the size of the one you gave to me. I don't know whether ball bearings of smaller size can still function as good as not. I will mail it to 1388 for you later as you said you have run out of ball bearings. I hope that they can benefit more audiophiles' systems. Through the search, I had got a piece of valuable information - nearly all the shops told me that we can buy ball bearings of any size (can be as large as your fist!) from their main supplier in Serangoon (one said along the Owen Road). Well, since I don't have a car, I can't search it out. You may go there to try out your luck if you have time.Dear Joe, another thing that amazed me, besides you magical technique in tweaking, is your personality. Despite the fact that you are now the boss of 1388 and your big name amongst the hifi enthusiasts, you are such a friendly, helpful, and warm-hearted person. It is so easy to feel your friendliness. Besides, I also feel terribly sorry that you were forced to do 'sauna' in my stuffy little room. Thanks also to Kim for her patience in waiting for us. Ya, when I checked the invoice, then only I realised that, including GST, Auric Illuminator costs $61.80. I only paid $60 for it. So, Joe (or Kim), I owed you $1.80. But never mind, when I shop from 1388 next time, I will remember to pay it back.Knowing that you are a successful businessman (which also means that you are an extremely busy man), I have a gift specially for you - a self-compiled CD consisting of very soothing yet beautifully composed new age music. These are the music that flowed from tranquil souls and can pacify the listeners. I know that you would not have time to listen but just play them as background music while you work can help very much in calming your mind. I sincerely hope that whenever you are stressed up, you would remember this CD. It would probably reach 1388 by Wednesday. Sorry for taking up at least 5 minutes of your time. I am looking forward to the launching of Bit88. If it really works as excellent as what you said, I will definitely want to get one!Take care and have a nice day!
