With the fast increasing recognition of the Super Audio CD format, the Philips SACD 1000 CD player received the EISA European Audio Player of the year 2001 - 2002 award.

This award describes the SACD 1000 as the first player to bring state-of-the-art multi-channel surround sound to this high-resolution audio format.
